Bozzuto President and CEO Toby Bozzuto recently spoke as a guest lecturer at Harvard University’s executive education program for a cohort of c-suite executives from around the world. His presentation, “Building a Legacy: The Business Case for Cultivating a Culture of Kindness,” emphasized how Bozzuto’s culture of kindness is the secret sauce that allows us to make the world a better place by creating sanctuary for those we serve.
“We can be successful with an enterprise that is highly ethical, kind and compassionate. These values can be a driver of profitability. A driver of culture. A driver of growth. A driver of reputation and opportunity,” he explained.
Toby shared that in focusing on creating a purpose beyond profit, we can truly radiate joy, thereby building a legacy that lasts for generations:
“All of us…have the capability of radiating joy if we truly follow our calling. If we do exactly what we were born to do. If we understand that a job may provide us with a paycheck, but a calling will give us purpose and meaning in our lives. The concept of enlightenment and happiness is therefore not relegated to some ethereal place – rather we can find it by using our skills and energy through our professional lives to be for the benefit of others. For a better humankind.”
