WASHINGTON, DC — May 24, 2021 — Today, Bozzuto Management Company earned an extraordinary and unprecedented honor by again being named the nation’s #1 Property Management Company by Multifamily Executive Magazine and J Turner Research. The ORA (Online Reputation Assessment) score is the multifamily industry’s standard to measure and benchmark a company’s online reputation. Bozzuto has claimed the top spot every year since the award’s inception in 2015.
Bozzuto earned an ORA score of 84.23 companywide. The average ORA score of the top 10 property managers is 81.11, while the national average ORA score is 66.39. Conducted by J Turner Research, the ORA Power Rankings evaluate apartment communities and management companies across the country and is considered the foremost authority for property management rankings.
In the face of challenges that were impossible to predict over the past year, Bozzuto responded swiftly. From seamlessly transitioning the management and leasing of 80,000 units into virtual operations to quickly enhancing wellness and diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives for employees—the company didn’t just talk about its commitment to the safety and wellbeing of associates and residents, they took meaningful action as the environment grew increasingly tense. Additionally, employees and residents joined forces to provide relief efforts for those greatly impacted by COVID-19 through the company’s social impact initiative Rise by Bozzuto.
President Stephanie L. Williams has strategically grown the portfolio – focused on growth with valued existing relationships, as well as important new clients who are aligned with the Bozzuto brand promise. While COVID-19 posed significant challenges to the multifamily industry in 2020, Bozzuto continued to grow its management portfolio by expanding their property management operations to the West Coast this year, with a focus on major gateway markets in California, Washington and beyond.
“We view ratings and reviews from our residents as paramount – a critical step in recognizing areas of opportunity to provide them with the very best experience,” states Stephanie L. Williams, president of Bozzuto Management Company. “We are incredibly proud to have earned this honor for seven years in a row, and it is directly attributed to our loyal residents and engaged employees. Our strong culture of kindness at Bozzuto allows our associates to deliver sanctuary for those we serve, which in turn builds trust and loyalty with our residents.”
As a result of these ongoing efforts, this year Bozzuto was named Property Management Firm of the Year by the National Association of Home Builders and Rise by Bozzuto was selected as the winner of Multi-Housing News’ inaugural award for Best Corporate Social Responsibility program. Also in 2020, Bozzuto was ranked as the #1 company in the Washington Post Top Workplaces list, which is based on independent employee ratings.
About the ORA Power Rankings
Developed by J Turner Research, the ORA Power Rankings are a monthly, independent ranking of apartment properties and management companies based on their Online Reputation Assessment (ORA) scores. The ORA score is an aggregate compilation of a property’s ratings across 21 plus review sites and ILSs. Each month, J Turner Research monitors the online ratings of more than 101,000 properties nationwide. Using a statistical model, a single score based on a scale of 0 to 100 is assigned to each property. This score serves as a benchmark to compare a company’s individual properties and portfolios nationally, regionally, and against the competition.
