Bozzuto Recognized for Best Practices in Recruitment, Retention & Advancement, Company Culture, and Demographics/Transparency Year-Over-Year

GREENBELT, MD (July 30, 2019) — Bozzuto has been named by Diversity Best Practices (DBP), a division of Working Mother Media, to the 2019 Inclusion Index. In recognition of their efforts, Bozzuto was one of only 80 companies to achieve a rating of 60 percent or higher, amongst several national and international fortune 500 companies.

The DBP Inclusion Index is designed to assist organizations in understanding gaps in demographic representation and provide insight on how to drive internal change and solutions through proven best practices. Membership on the Inclusion Index gives recognition to Bozzuto’s consistent efforts and commitment to the three Index focus areas: Best Practices in Recruitment, Retention and Advancement, Company Culture, and Demographics/Transparency.

Innovative companies understand the significance of embracing diversity and fostering different ways of thinking to disrupt the status quo. Bozzuto recruits from a diverse pool of applicants, which results in a unique and talented workforce drawn from all segments of society.

“Our philosophy on diversity and inclusion remains the same as it was in 1998. Hire the best people and encourage them to do their best. It’s become a rallying cry at Bozzuto. We recognize the importance of not only ensuring best practices but also continuing the conversation, sometimes the difficult conversation, around what it means to support diversity and inclusion efforts fully,” said Toby Bozzuto, president and CEO of The Bozzuto Group.

Since its founding, Bozzuto has made a conscious effort to operate as a team that gives everyone a seat at the table and a hand in their success; ensuring that their organization is considered a place of trust, where candid conversations can take place, and all employees can learn from one another and grow stronger together. Bozzuto brings this change to the multifamily industry with a perspective that is as passionate, inspiring, and vibrant as the communities it serves.

In 2018, Bozzuto spearheaded significant industry-leading diversity and inclusion efforts and was recognized by the National Association for Female Executives as a Top Company for Executive Women. Additionally, Bozzuto president and CEO Toby Bozzuto became one of the first signatories for the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion pledge, the most significant CEO-led business commitment to advance diversity and inclusion within the workplace.
