– Flats 8300 is Winner for Excellence in Green Building –
GREENBELT, MD — February 09, 2017 — Bozzuto, an experiential real estate company, and Invesco Real Estate, a global real estate investment manager, are pleased to announce today that Flats 8300 in Bethesda, MD has been recognized as the Winner for Excellence in Green Building in the residential category of the U.S. Green Building Council Maryland Chapter Wintergreen Awards. In addition, another Bozzuto-managed community, the LEED Silver certified Flats at Bethesda Avenue, was named a finalist in the same category. The Wintergreen Awards celebrate and recognize excellence in healthy building design, environmental stewardship and community impact.

Sustainable features of Flats 8300 include:
- 74 percent open space, green roof, two electric vehicle-charging stations with two car-sharing spaces and Capital Bikeshare amenities. Flats 8300 has a WalkScore of 88.
- The site has achieved a 35.8 percent reduction in water usage through water-efficient landscaping and 40.3 percent reduction in water use through other efficiency measures.
- The project has achieved an energy cost savings of 23.72 percent over standard code.
The U-shaped building is a response to two busy avenues that border the site, Wisconsin and Woodmont. A spacious interior courtyard overlooks parkland to the North, providing a refuge for residents. - Anticipating LEED Silver certification.
