Focus on your resume
First impressions are everything, and your resume is the first thing we see. Use your resume as a way to tell a story about your experience. Here’s how to frame it:

1. Before you submit your resume, have someone you trust do a thorough review. Check for spelling, grammatical and formatting issues. The ideal length is one to two pages, and in an easy-to-read format. PDFs are preferred.
2. Align your skills and experience with the job description.
3. Be specific about projects you’ve worked on. Don’t be shy about sharing metrics and achievements.
4. We love success stories. Tell us about your triumphs, the recognition you’ve received or awards you’ve earned.

The qualifications listed in the job description are there to help you select the role that best fits your background and aspirations, so pay close attention—our talent advisors review applications with these in mind.

Speak with your talent advisor.
If you make it to the interview stage, our talent advisors would like to learn more about you, explore your experience and see if you’re a good fit for the position. They will schedule either a phone or video call to discuss your experience and skills, as well as dive into the details of the role and life at Bozzuto.

We utilize video interview technology in our interview process. This might consist of a live video interview with a talent advisor or an on-demand video interview in which you answer a series of pre-recorded questions. You should treat a video interview the same way you would treat an in-person interview; dress and act professionally.

Meet your hiring manager.
After the phone or video interview, you will typically have an interview at the location where you will be working. It is usually conducted by your future manager and lasts about 30 to 45 minutes. Interviews include three parts that cover the general Bozzuto experience, situational behavior and job simulations.

Tips:

1. Be on time. To quote Elin Hilderbrand: “To be early is to be on time, to be on time is to be late, to be late is to be forgotten.”
2. Dress professionally. Impress us with your individual, professional style.
3. Show us your curiosity. Your interview is a conversation. Since we are trying to get to know you, feel free to interview us, too. Ask questions—whether about the work, team or culture—that will help you decide whether the job will be right for you.

When you’ll hear back
After you complete your in-person interview, a talent advisor will follow up with you to see how it went. At that time, they will inform you of when you can expect to hear back on the final decision. The timeline can take a few weeks, as we take into consideration your qualifications as well as those of the other candidates who interviewed in person. It may seem like a long process, but we want to ensure we are thorough and trust our final decision will be the best for you and for us alike.

What happens if I’m not selected?
While we wish we could give everyone good news, in the end, we are looking for the best fit for the role. If we ultimately don’t feel it’s a great match, your talent advisor will let you know that you were not selected for the opportunity and will provide feedback from your interview.
